I'm ready to finally start telling you about our EuroAdventure! When Tee and I first decided to go on a EuroTrip, we thought we'd do Iceland and Barcelona. Turns out Delta don't fly to Iceland in the wintrytime...so instead we decided on Amsterdam, since Teebags had never been.
I love Amsterdam. And I haven't visited since junior year of college. (Aside from my 18-hour stopover in February.)
It's just the prettiest most-immaculate city.
Teeeeeeeee!
Tee's friend Nahu was on the trip too. And through Nahu's Starwood connections we stayed at the Hotel Pulitzer, an awesome hotel made up of 26 classic canal houses that have all been renovated to interconnect into one big building. Impossible to convey photographically, but really really cool.
We got put in a gorgeous 2-bedroom penthouse suite.
Our living room was purty and looked out over the Prinsengracht canal.
We had a restaurant rezzie for late that first night. So we stopped at a little neighborhood bar, T-Smalls, for drinks and snackies.
A day without wine is like a day without sunshine!
And obviously we ordered the meatball appetizer. MmmmMMmMMM...
And Europe is all about the cheeses and meatses.
Prettttyyyy....
For dinner we went to Marius.
At Marius we ordered the Chef's 4-course Tasting Menu.
The first course was cod.
I'm not a huge fish person, but this cod was innnnncredible. It was in like a creamy buttery sauce. So rich. So smooth. So delicious.
Following the cod was another fish dish, perch I believe... which I also loved. Rare that I love a cooked fish.
Then there was a lamb shoulder. Mmmmm it was good.
And finally, THE DUCK. This duck was SO succulent. It was one of my top five things we ate over the course of the entire trip. Maybe top two.
DUUUUUUCK.
OK. More to come!
