We started out with a breakfeast of champions.
KATSUCURRY!!!!
Afterwards we busted out our trusty facemasks and hit the streets of Tokyo.
We first hit Takeshita street in Harajuku.
(Take A Shit-A Street. Muahaha.)
It's a super-crowded area. And I re-staged my "standing over the crowd" pic from years ago finally with a professional camera.
Erik wanted one too. Creeper.
Harajuku is the epicenter of "Kawaii". (aka Japanese cuteness and squealing)
There are little crepe places everywhere.
And animals and cartoons and happiness. I really really love it.
Then we hit up the upscale shopping district of Omotesando. (Which is actually where I was staying, at Aly's apartment.)
The place to see here is the flagship Prada Store.
It is beautiful!
We stopped for a crepe break!
And then took a 40 minute trainride to Oshiage, home of the Tokyo Skytree. The 2nd tallest building in the world!
The view from the top, of course, breathtaking.
Tokyo is MASSIVE.
The observation deck is 360-degrees and in every direction are lights and city as far as the eye can see.
The Skytree is basically a big donut sitting on a pole. So at the bottom floor of the donut there is a glass floor that allows you to see ALLLLLL the way down. Pretty nutso.
After Skytree we walked the neighboring streets of Asakuma to go to Eugene's favorite Tempura restaurant in the world.
These tempuras were so different from any tempura I've ever had. YES YES DERRICIOUS!!!!
Goodbye Skytree!
I went home to Aly's in Omotesando for a good night's sleep before our last half-day in Tokyo before heading to Hong Kong.
