AC and Shiri's Engagement

I was hiding behind a pillar. It was the most beautiful engagement ever and raised the bar for all engagments to come. AC hired a string trio (originally a quartet but one person couldn't make it) and told them to start playing their song "Wonderwall" as he and shiri started walking close. As they played, a "crowd" began to gather around. He got down on one knee and proposed.

She accepted and they embraced.

And then the crowd applauded. It was only then that Shiri realized that the crowd was made up of all their friends and family who had flown in from Texas, Boston, etc.

Tears and smiles were everywhere. It was amazing.

Originally we were in the plaza in front of the fountain at Lincoln Center and we were all scurrying back and forth up until the very last minutes. But because of the rain, one of the violin bitches REFUSED to get her "$30,000 instrument" wet. Here's what THAT proposal would have looked like...

But you know what, these things happen for a reason. And if we hadn't been in that other position, I never would have gotten as clear a shot of her face as we did in that top picture (you can barely see it in the silhouette above) and that little light behind her ring hand just happened to be there, magical. So yeah. You just gotta go with the flow, and remember that no matter what happens, the end result is the same and you have a great story to tell.

Congratulations AC and Shiri! I could not be happier for two of my favorite people.
