Min & Ted's Wedding

So my week in Indo was amazing.

In general it was really chill. We were there five days and I really only worked on one of them. The rest of the time I ate, drank coffee, hung out by the pool, and got massages.

We took a couple of pre-wedding "engagement" photos for Min and Ted (Teresa's bro). It was impossible to get a bad shot. The scenery was spectacular everywhere you turned.

Then the morning of the wedding was moderately frenzied. Originally the ceremony was set for 5:30 pm, but because we had been experiencing torrential downpour every afternoon, they moved the ceremony to 10:30 am.

The morning was always beautiful. It would start with a low fog.

And the rays of sun would shoot through the fog and it created an awesome effect.

Min fired the hair and makeup team assigned by the resort (they were randoms from the local village and had no idea what they were doing) and her sisters and cousin became her hair and makeup and styling team.

The bride looked fierce!

Photobucket

And also quite happy.

It was an intimate ceremony.

With heartfelt speeches.

Laughter...

And a surprise musical performance by Min's crazy aunt Jenny...

We did some portraits...

(Here's a great behind-the-scenes photo a guest took of me at work. The setting was so beautiful.)

There was a lovely dinner.

Dancing.

And then...there was an afterparty.

There was a bouquet toss...

Which Teresa won.

Then there was a garter toss.

Which the boys were really excited about.

The ultimate high point of the dance party came when the DJ finally played Justin Bieber's "Baby". (He originally didn't have it. But after several requests and "boo"s and spontaeous chanting of "Baby...baby...baby OHHHHH" from the entire crowd, he caved and downloaded it.)

We went nutz!

Super fun wedding!

And the best part was I made lots of new friends from all over the globe. Australia...Singapore...Dubai.... and thus hopefully will have more international wedding gigs to come in the future!

NYC layover / Mellis Engagement Party

So I came back to NYC for a 4-day layover from Hawaii to do a bunch of actor photoshoots (7 total!) and to attend Melanie and Willis's engagement party at the Standard Beer Garden.

Melanie's friends all just happen to have awesome hair and GIANT engagement rings...

But Mel's ring kind of just makes everyone else's look silly.

Good work Willis! Hook me up with some of these sure-to-be-fabulous weddings!

Yum lots of beers and sausages.

And sister-in-law Megoon just got a promotion at Comedy Central. She's now a boss!

Congratulations Goon!

OK I have to finish packing. Off to Singapore in the morning!

Toni & Mike's Wedding!

After days of lounging by the pool, snorkel and scuba expeditions, and feasting the big day had finally arrived.

Toni was by far the most chill bride I have ever witnessed.

Throughout the whole wedding process she was so laid-back. Someone would suggest a color scheme or a flower arrangement or a dress color and she'd be like, "that sounds good." Honestly if you encountered her the day before the wedding you would have had no idea she was about to marry.

But marry she did.

And the day started at the salon for mommy, bride, and maid of honor KristyKwan.

In the morning there was a tea ceremony. Where the bride and groom served tea to all the parents and aunties and uncles in exchange for munny.

Then we went into Toni's auntie's ridiculous jungle-like garden and took some family photos.

Awww Gooma and Charmaine have such lovely smiles...

And Auntie Pearl and her three sisters make that grey hair WERQ!

And the bride and groomboy look so happy.

We even got the notoriously shy MikeyMike (of MikeyMike and the Mikey Mikes) to pose for some pics.

Finally we headed over to the ceremony at Aloha Towers.

Randy escorted Auntie Pearl to her seat.

And Uncle Bill looked like the proudest daddy ever. He didn't stop smiling all weekend. Crazy because when we were little he was the SCARIEST MAN IN THE WORLD.

But on this day he smiled. And even teared up maybe.

Gorgeous!

Happy!

It is worth noting that Kristy spent countless hours HAND-drawing each and every person's place setting complete with name and little Hawaiian map on the back. The tables were named after islands.

(Yes she is nuts.)

It was a small reception. 60 people or so. And it was great because unlike a lot of receptions which are frenzied and huge with the bride and groom rushing off to spend 5 minutes with each and every guest, Toni and Mike really got to soak in the day and hang out with their friends and fam.

There were the usuals: first dances and embarrassing speeches...

And then there was a dance party featuring lots of wedding "favorites" (aka I hear them at almost every wedding and they make me want to jump off a cliff) like "Shout" and "Sweet Caroline" and "Love Shack" !

During the very last song, Toni's contact lens popped out.

It was an expensive gas-permeable lens and not one of those daily disposables, so she was quite upset and every was on their hands and knees searching for it.

There were several false alarms.

I felt bad for Toni, but at the same time I was like, this makes for really funny pictures!

We spent maybe something like 15 minutes searching. And at one point some random busboy dude walked up and was like, "are we searching for jewels?" thinking someone lost a diamond setting or something.

The sight of the poor bride sitting helpless, her entire dress in full contact with the dirty floor was probably one of the most pathetic things I've ever seen.

Sad sad.

But we finally did find it, stuck to Mike's arm.

And then there was a 2 hour partybus afterparty back to our resort. Yay! There was puking.
