Off to LA again / Atlantic Antic / Celeb sightings

I often forget where I am.

Just now I was walking through JFK and I could have sworn I was at LAX heading home to New York.

Maybe I travel too much.

Maybe I'm sleepy.

Anyway I'm on my way back to LA for a big corporate gig tomorrow (I'm taking pics of 22 lawyers for their new website).

I'm so relieved to have a wonderful new apartment. Last week when I was in LA I was super-stressed about where I was going to end up living. Funny how things can change so quickly.

Last week, right before I flew back to NY we had a group outing to watch The Town (great movie).

When we arrived at the theater, Smileyjohn saw his clothing twin. It was SO funny. We HAD to take a picture...

THEN, Smileyjohn's clothing twin met up with his ladyfriend, who just happened to be Annie's clothing twin. It was unreal!

Maybe you had to be there. Whatever. It was awesome.

So I came back to NY. Found an apartment, lost an apartment, and within 24 hours found a new apartment, still on the Lower East Side.

I love my neighborhood.

I walked up the street the other day to find a throng of people gawking at something.

I shoved my way through the crowd to find myself face-to-face with Rihanna, filming her new video, I assume for "Only Girl in the World". She was just walking around with a pair of drumsticks drumming on walls and doorframes and stuff, soaking up the attention and screaming to everyone, "You're all gonna be in my video!!!!"

This was very exciting to me, since I had just seen her in concert a few months ago.

I was so close to her I could have punched her. But I waited until I was a bit farther away to take pictures.

Anyway, I was on my way to some street festival called Atlantic Antic in Brooklyn, meeting up with my buddies Christian and Sol who I haven't seen since Norway.

There was food and people and drinking everywhere.

And cake!

And fake princesses!

One highlight was a $5 slider from Morton's steakhouse...

$5 also buys you three giant meatballs from a rando Italian stand.

I bumped into my Brown buddy Todd who happened to be performing with his band "Arms".

And then we found delicious pineapple drinks!

Brooklyn, you're neat, but I'm so glad I live in Manhattan!

And now I'm at the aeropuerto about to take off for LA.

I'm actually sitting across from Robin Thicke, can you see his reflection in my sunglasses? Probably not. I'd take a picture but I'm trying to be cool and discreet even though we all know I'm anything but.

Anyway, see y'all on the flip side!

Carlos & Dany's Wedding Video

So I don't remember if I ever posted this, but several months ago, Khalil sent me the link to this beautiful wedding video he had found.

The guy who made it, Alexi, is a graphic designer guy based in Toronto who is a tech geek and crazy about cameras and had made this video for his friends after attending their wedding.

I was so moved and impressed by the video that I contacted Alexi, who actually had only just started doing videography as a hobby.

We became cyberbuddies and I put him in touch with Katie and we ended up flying him down to shoot her and Semmes' wedding last weekend.

We've been going back and forth on editing ideas, and I've seen some of the footage...and their wedding video is his best work EVER. It is going to be F*CKING INCREDIBLE.

Seriously...I think it may go viral on YouTube and turn Katie and Semmes into internet celebrities. I can't wait until the teaser is finished so I can show it to you. And the world. And then we go on Oprah.

Stay tuned.

Until then. Watch Carlos and Dany's video!

Katie and Semmes' Wedding: This is gonna take a while

Gonna take a while and multiple blog entries.

I mean, it was AN EVENT.

Katie already has the most infectious smile and laugh and spirit of anyone I know. Put her in a room with her dearest family and friends, get her MARRIED, and well, it was basically a 12 hour smilefest.

The band was amazing. Her photographer was amazing. Like AMAZING. The most creative guy I have ever seen.

Here's a teaser photo he posted on his blog.

And everyone was all smiles all day long.

Here are the first few photos I've worked on. There are so many photos, I really have no idea how this is going to work. Stay tuned!

Such a beautiful wedding.

Such a happy weekend.

Congrats Katie and Semmesey! Have fun in France!

Rehearsal dinner tonight!

Running around doing lots of things.

Gotta get a new flash for my camera. Gotta maybe find a cute tie. Maybe a fabulous shirt for a fabulous brunch.

Katie and Semmesey's Superwedding tomorrow.

Won't be able to post anything else major until Monday at the earliest. But there's a tidal wave of big blog posts coming!

In the meantime you can re-live our recent Katie and Semmes adventures here.

Congratulations soon-to-be Mrs. Swalmsley!!!!

Off to New Orleans / Katie's Brideshower!

I'm off to New Orleans with a motley crew (Danny Eric Zameer) it should be awesome!

Danny and I will be crashing with Katie and Semmes.

Since they're getting married next weekend, I suppose it's time I caught up and posted about Katie's bridal shower which she had almost two months ago now.

Katie's mom rented out Gregorio's, this cute little Italian restaurant in Chatham, NJ, and filled it with friends and family.

There was a delightful strawberry and goat cheese salad.

A single serving of Megoon.

AND MINICUPCAKES (this was all just to start)

It was a major multi-course ordeal.

And OMG PARMESAN CHICKEN

But not before a full plate of rigatoni appetizer!

And OMG SO MANY PRESENTS.

And a DK designed Newlywed Game Video.

I have never seen any of these people before in my life. Katie has lots of rando Jersey aunts.

PARMESAN CRUSTED CHICKON!!!!!

And dipped strawbrys.

Presents took hours.

And then she wore a hat.
