(Again these pics are from April. I'm just making use of my down-time to finally update some missed blog entries. Yayy)
Barcelona is such an amazing city. Especially if you like food and architectures, particularly the works of Gaudi.
On our last couple days, we visited Casa Batllo, a house unlike any other.
Running through the center of the "house" is this huge blue "air shaft" that directed natural light into almost all the rooms of the house, revolutionary, especially considering this house was built in 1800-something!
Every single detail was designed and thought out...
Even the fencing!
I'm normally not a huge fan of audio-tours...but this one was worth it.
Even the chimneys were awesomely designed. And completely functional!
After Batllo, we hit up the market for some fresh treats and good squid.
I love a rabbit!
We got some fried calamaris...
And Tee wanted the eggy, sauteed kind...yuck.
Also there were meatballs...
Mmmmmm!
Then for dinner we hit up yet another Michelin restaurant - Alkimia.
I was so full though I just ordered the delicious chicken cannelonis and tasted everything else the girls were getting.
There were a couple other Gaudi buildings we checked out. When in Barcelona you just have to...
Just blown away by these awesome chimney designs. Can you imagine if NYC rooftops and chimneys were actually all beautiful?
We also visited Park Guell...another Gaudi designed space.
Asian Poses!
Soy beautiful!
One final meal...
And that's it. The End.
Actually that's not really it. We had a crazy night out and I lost my camera and all I remember is we went to this multi-level club/restaurant and the bathroom was co-ed and in the basement and actually had a bar and DJ in there and people were actually hanging out in there and dancing around the fancy sink etc. A great idea in theory...except that every five minutes or so someone would open a stall door and the entire place would SMELL LIKE POOP!!!!!
